HOUSTON The sons of a man accused of killing an Iranian medical student are facing criminal charges of their own.
KHOU 11 News has learned that detectives arrested them over the weekend on drug charges that stem from an incident at the Joe Corley Federal Detention Facility in Conroe.
Nile Irsan and Nasim Irsan are accused of trying to sneak drugs to their dad behind bars.
Their dad, Ali Irsan, has been in federal custody since last month.
He is accused of killing Gelareh Bagherzadeh in January of 2012.
Law enforcement sources told KHOU 11 News that the brothers bought food out of the vending machine at the detention center.
They then allegedly put the drugs in the food and tried to sneak the food to their dad.
The Irsan brothers have since bonded out of jail.
If convicted they could face up to 10 years in prison.
