HARRIS COUNTY, Texas Pct. 4 Deputy Constables responded to a violent crash that injured one person and left an engine in the middle of a north Harris County roadway.

It happened around 3:15 a.m. Friday along the N. Sam Houston Parkway at E. Hardy Road.

Authorities said a car traveling westbound on the frontage road ran a red light and slammed into the back of a pickup. The impact was so great it knocked the engine completely out of the car.

The man in the car was sent to the hospital in stable condition. The man in the truck appeared to be okay but was sent to the hospital to get checked out.
