Another piece of history tied to the now retired space shuttle fleet is on its way to its final home. The old 747 jumbo jet that ferried shuttles on its back across the country will sit just outside NASA's Johnson Space Center south of Houston.

The aircraft has been disassembled, and its biggest pieces will be delivered on oversized flatbed trucks over two days. The 1,000-foot convoy will travel about walking speed the eight miles from Houston's Ellington Field to Space Center Houston.
