Using marijuana may increase your risk of heart complications.

Researchers studied the hospital records of nearly 2,000 marijuana patients admitted for marijuana-related complications. About 2 percent of the cases involved cardiovascular problems like heart attacks and arterial problems.

People with pre-existing heart problems were more prone to the effects of marijuana.

The French study does not identify specific risks, but some doctors warn that it signals a level of risk is associated between cannabis use and heart problems.
