HOUSTON - Arson investigators with the Houston Fire Department are looking into two overnight blazes at abandoned homes on the southeast side.

The first fire was reported around 12:50 a.m. Friday on Pershing near Jutland. HFD said a fire was found in the back of a one-story home. No injuries were reported, and the fire was put out before it spread.

Around 2 a.m., another fire was reported a mile south at a duplex on Mallow at Noel. The abandoned duplex was destroyed, but again no injuries were reported.

There were no early indications that the two fires were related.
