AUSTIN, Texas -- Distracted drivers are dangerous, and now the city wants to close loopholes on the texting and driving law.

City leaders want to expand the rules beyond cell phones so police can crack down on drivers distracted by iPads, Kindles and even food.

The Public Safety Commission passed a resolution Monday evening asking the city council to form a task force.

There is also a move to limit cell phone use by cyclists.
