HOUSTON Emergency crews have been busy responding to dozens of crashes all over Houston.

Between 4 and 8 a.m., the Houston Fire Department responded to more than 100 accidents. Half of those happened between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.

Crews in surrounding counties are also seeing hundreds of crashes.

The ice is widespread and isn t confined to bridges and overpasses, so many drivers are caught off guard when they hit a slick spot.

Drivers are urged to stay home, if possible, and use extra caution if you have to get out.
