The Sugar Land Skeeters are hosting their first Black Heritage Night on Thursday, August 22 at Constellation Field.

The evening will honor baseball greats such as Grover Deacon Jones, Bob Watson, Jimmy Wynn, J.R. Richard, Kevin Bass, Enos Cabell, Cecil Cooper and more. There will also be a pregame performance by Texas Southern University's Ocean of Soul Marching Band.

Another highlight of the festivities will be two mobile donor coaches from the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center taking donations from 3-7 p.m. Each person who gives or attempts to give blood will receive a Commit for Life t-shirt with the Skeeters logo, a coupon for a free pint of Blue Bell Ice Cream, plus a voucher for a free Skeeters game ticket, while supplies last.
