HOUSTON Nearly 60 CenterPoint Energy linemen and support personnel headed to Oklahoma Tuesday to help after massive tornadoes ripped apart neighborhoods.

Crews will be working side by side with OG&E Electric Services, who serves more than 800,000 customers over a 30,000 square mile area in Oklahoma and western Arkansas.

CenterPoint Energy partners with other utilities in mutual assistance agreements to lend a hand during widespread power outage emergencies.

Over the years, CenterPoint Energy crews have restored power to millions of customers throughout the country who were left in the dark following hurricanes, ice storms, tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. Most recently, CenterPoint Energy crews helped crews in the northeast following Hurricane Sandy.
