HOUSTON -- A cell phone store manager said he is outraged and astonished following a smash-and-grab at his southwest Houston business.

It was early Monday morning when three suspects crashed a truck into the front of the store in the 12100 block of Fondren Road, just north of W. Airport Boulevard.

A surveillance camera caught the crash on video. It shows the vehicle smashing through the burglar bars and then backing out of the store. Three suspects wearing hoodies then ran in and stole several phones before speeding away in the truck.

The manager said he got a call about the break-in around 4 a.m.

I m mad, but I m a little bit shocked also because for somebody to do it like that is unbelievable, said the manager.

Officers said the men involved in the crime have probably hit other stores in similar fashion. The truck they used, which was reported stolen two hours before the smash-and-grab, was found at a nearby apartment complex.

There is a very big black market for the cell phones, they steal from here, they can sell it to some other cities, if they can t sell it, it s exported to other countries, he added.

HPD said it appeared the trio knew exactly what they were doing.
