HARRIS COUNTY -- A Houston man who killed his wife in front of their children will spend the rest of his life in prison.

On Friday, a jury found Jason Bouchard guilty of capital murder.

Bouchard killed his estranged wife, Terri San-Vicente, with a crowbar after setting fire to her home in the early morning Christmas Eve 2009.

The couple's three young children barely escaped the fire after their babysitter called 911.

Bouchard recently lost custody of the kids.

He represented himself at trial and argued he was in the right to kill his wife because she abused the children.
