HOUSTON When gunfire rang out on the Lone Star College campus Tuesday afternoon, some studentstook coverunder their desks, while others took off running.
The campus in the 2700block of W.W. Thorne Drive was put on lockdown after three people were wounded around 12:30 p.m.
Dozens of students witnessed the shooting and the aftermath.
Witnesses said it all started as an argument between two men.
I saw two dudes basically get into an altercation and the dude that shot, he basically got angry and started shooting the other guy, said Brittany Mobley. He had it [the gun] hidden in his clothes or whatever and then after that, he pulled it out and started shooting the other guy and accidentally shot another dude.
Mobley and other students ran from the scene.
As soon as I heard the bullets flying and the gun being fired off, then everyone started running and it was a hint for me to start running as well, Mobley said.

One of the gunmen also ran from the scene.
Mark Zaragosa, an EMT student, came upon the shooting scene right after it happened.
I actually had just come out of EMT class and I noticed that there were two downed victims so I stopped to render assistance, Zaragosa said. The two people that I took care of had just minor injuries. One gentleman had a gunshot to the knee and the [other] actually had an entry wound to the lower buttocks area.
Zaragosa quickly sprang into action.
I had just told him[one of the victims]who I was and I asked him where he had been shot. He told me and I just proceeded to do whatever I could, he said.
Zaragosa said he did not see a weapon on or near the injured man, who deputies handcuffed immediately upon arrival.
When I found him, no he did not [have a weapon]. Police did not actually get to him until right in the middle of me rendering assistance. As a matter of fact, we were carrying him over to an open area and they told us to put him down with all weapons drawn and they cuffed him right there.
Mobley believes the school should now tighten up on security.
You don t really think that the school that you re trying to get educated at possibly would end up in a death-type of environment. You don t think that basically you re coming to get shot, she said. I really recommend that Lone Star kind of do extra security checks for the students that come here so the ones that really want to get an education can feel safe.
Acampus lockdown was lifted after an extensive search.
The second suspectwas later arrested after showing up at an area hospital with a gunshot wound.
