HARRIS COUNTY -- A homeowner helps Harris County Sheriff s deputies catch a teenager trying to steal Christmas presents.

The homeowner told investigators he caught the teen stealing gifts from his wife s car Tuesday evening in the 10300 block of Crimson Canyon in northwest Harris County. Officials said the vehicle was unlocked.

He followed the boy after he jumped in a white Chevy Tahoe with the presents. The homeowner was able to give authorities a partial license plate number.

The suspect s vehicle description and license plate number was given other deputies. A short time later, a deputy stopped the vehicle with three suspects near Battlecreek and Millbrook.

Deputies said they found the gifts and other stolen property in the suspect s vehicle. The items were returned to the owners.

The homeowner was able to make a positive identification and 17-year-old Guillermo Lozada was arrested and charged with burglary.

Police said another suspect, a juvenile, was also charged with burglary. The third suspect was not charged and was released.
