HOUSTON -- Texans fans could see a major upgrade at Reliant Stadium next season.

The Harris County Sports and Convention Corporation says it will vote next week on adding two high definition scoreboards.

The addition of the video boards would help Houston in its bid for the 2017 Super Bowl.

Texans owner Bob McNair recently pointed out that the Texans are the only team in the league without a digital scoreboard.

The two new scoreboards would reportedly go up before the Texans 2013 season and cost close to $16 million.

McNair and the Houston Livestock Show and Road would pick up the tab, and then be reimbursed by Reliant, that s according to our news partners at the Houston Chronicle.

The vote is scheduled for next Wednesday.
