HOUSTON Some drivers were hampered by road debris on Interstate 10 during the evening rush hour in east Houston.

It was all caused by a drive shaft that was right in the middle of the freeway near the McCarty exit. Several miles of freeway had vehicles scattered that had hit the drive shaft.

An 18-wheeler truck got a flat in the front of its vehicle after the hitting the drive shaft. Other vehicles also got flat tires.

An estimated eight to twelve cars were impacted by the debris, according to two truck drivers.

There was no word on where the drive shaft came from.
