CONROE, Texas - Authorities north of Houston say two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said Thursday that deputies responded to a park for recreational vehicles near Conroe late Wednesday night. A man called 911 to say he was contacted by his father-in-law who said he had shot his wife and intended to shoot himself.

Deputies responded to the Thousand Trails RV Park in the 11700 block of Thousand Trails on the east side of Lake Conroe.

Deputies found the bodies of 69-year-old Donald Jacobson and 65-year-old Lucille Jacobson in their RV. Donald Jacobson had a gunshot wound to his head and his wife suffered multiple wounds to her torso.

Authorities say it's not clear what precipitated the shooting. They say the couple had been staying at the park for a few weeks.
