HUMBLE More top tier players have joined the Shell Houston Open field, including four-time major championship winner Ernie Els and two-time major championship winner Angel Cabrera, plus a pair of young PGA TOUR standouts, announced Tournament Director Steve Timms.

Els, making his sixth SHO appearance, has 47 international victories and 19 PGA TOUR wins, including the 2012 and 2002 British Open, plus the 1997 and 1994 U.S. Open.
The South African native s commitment now puts the last seven British Open winners in the field at the Golf Club of Houston Tournament Course the week of March 31-April 6.

A native of Argentina, Cabrera has a home in the Fall Creek subdivision adjacent to the Golf Club of Houston, and has 39 international victories to his credit as well as the 2007 U.S. Open and 2009 Masters.
This will be Cabrera s eight consecutive SHO appearance. He finished T13 last year at the SHO.
