HOUSTON -- Fire crews had their hands full Friday afternoon with a big apartment fire in southeast Houston.

The Southeast Volunteer Fire Department saw the smoke before they even got to the scene.

Flames were shooting through the roof when crews arrived at the Park Center Apartments at Beamer Road and Scarsdale Boulevard.

Fire investigators are trying to determine what started the fire. Officials did not say how many units were damaged in the fire.
