HOUSTON -- Police said a driver in northwest Houston refused to pull over for officers late Thursday, leading them on a chase all because of marijuana.

It was around 11:30 p.m. when an officer tried to pull over a Ford Taurus for a traffic violation, but the car took off, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD said the suspect threw something out of his car while driving down N. Victory, which they later discovered was marijuana.

The driver stopped a short time later and was taken into custody for felony evading and tampering with evidence.
