HOUSTON -- A man in his 40s died late Sunday when his motorcycle struck a concrete guardrail on Highway 90 in northeast Houston, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, the crash occurred around 9:20 p.m.

Police said the man lost control of his bike while trying to overtake another vehicle. The biker was said to have cut across the highway before hitting the barricade. He died at the scene.

Police said the man was wearing all of the proper safety equipment. The victim s cousin was operating a second bike and witnessed the crash from behind, police said.
