HUMBLE, Texas She s 30-something and was dangerously obese while struggling with her health issues.

That was just touching the surface for a woman from the Conroe area. Just two months ago she decided to make a change, and KHOU 11 News was there. Checking in with Tia Brameld today, she and her family are all smiles.

After her weight loss surgery, Tia is able to join her family in an activity she s avoided for years: bowling.

Just because it became so hard to bowl for me, and kind of embarrassing, Brameld tells KHOU 11 News. My back would hurt. My arms would hurt. My legs would be sore already.

Two months after we first met her, however, bowling and life in general are much better.

She went from a size 8.5 9 to a size 7, and her shoe size slimmed down as well. She s off all her meds, is no longer a diabetic, and has lost nearly 50 pounds since her operation.

She says her experience is inspiring others who have been on the fence to go for it.
