FRIENDSWOOD, Texas Authorities are investigating whether the pistol-whipping robbery of a pizza restaurant employee is related to another robbery in Webster.

Two white men wearing ski masks and black T-shirts approached a Papa John s employee in the parking lot after closing about 12:21 a.m. Sunday, Friendswood police said in a statement released Monday.

The employee was struck in the head with a pistol, and the robbers took the restaurant s night deposit bag. The worker had just locked the business, 201 E. Parkwood Ave., and was preparing to enter the passenger side of an automobile when he was attacked.

When the two men ran up, one grabbed his backpack, while the other hit him in the head with a gun, police said. The victim fell to the ground. One of the men pointed the gun at the victim and took the backpack away from him.

The worker suffered a large knot on his head.
