Getting an extra 27 minutes of sleep could help kids behave better at school. That's according to a study out of Canada in which researchers also found children who slept an hour less had a harder time limiting impulsive behavior.

Doctors say the goal for younger children should be 11 hours of sleep each night.

The findings come as no surprise to some parents who have seen first-hand the disadvantages of not getting enough rest.

Experts say parents should limit night-time activities that will stimulate children. Those things include television in the two hours before bed time, computer time and texting on cell phones.
