HUNTSVILLE -- Huntsville High School students are mourning the loss of a cheerleader who died in a traffic accident early Friday.
Karessa Horace, 18, crashed after losing control of her car on FM 1696 in Walker County, according to DPS troopers.
Her vehicle flipped several times and Horace was not wearing a seat belt, according to investigators.
KBTX reported the vehicle s tires were bald.
Horace was a senior who would have graduated in May.
The Huntsville Independent School District said additional counselors were on hand Friday to support grieving students and staff.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
