HOUSTON It was a close call in southwest Houston Sunday when a woman driving a car with seven children inside plowed into the front of a store.

Several people were shopping inside Beauty Empire in the 6600 block of South Braeswood near Fondren when an Expedition, driven by Shanta Jackson, came flying in.

I just pulled out the grocery store and coming here to get some hair, Jackson said. I just pulled over here. I thought I had it in park, but it was in gas. I pressed and it went through. The first thing I did was hopped out the car and ran and saw if anybody was hurt.

The children with Jackson were not harmed.

A 4-year-old boy was running around by the registers when boxes fell on top of him. Luckily he was not seriously injured. His nervous father rushed to the scene after hearing the news.

I was driving crazy trying to get here. I can t lose my son, said Amir Moulaye.

The little boy s leg was hurt a bit, but he forgot all about the pain after getting a push pop piece of candy. His parents took him to the hospital as a precaution.

Jackson was not facing any charges in the accident.
