HOUSTON -- Crooks after an ATM's cash smashed a stolen truck through the front of a food store in southeast Houston early Friday, police said.

The Houston Police Department said the smash-and-grab happened at the R&F Food Store on Park Place Boulevard near Findlay Street around 5 a.m.

Officers arrived to find the front of the store completely smashed in. They determined someone backed a Ford F-150 into the store and ripped out the ATM. The machine was smashed open and emptied of its cash, police said.

HPD located the stolen truck a few blocks away, but the crooks weren't immediately located.
