HOUSTON A bomb scare shut down a bank, a nearby H-E-B and a busy street in northwest Harris County Wednesday afternoon.

The HCSO bomb squad was called to the Amegy Bank in the 1700 block of Stuebner Airline to check out a suspicious package.

A bomb squad member was seen suiting up and going inside the bank with a bomb-sniffing dog at one point. They came back out a few minutes later.

Investigators remained on the scene for several hours, but the Harris County Sheriff's Officelater confirmedno explosives were found.

H-E-Bevacuatedcustomers and employees for about an hour as a precaution.

Stuebner Airline was alsoshut down at Louetta for awhile.

The store and street later reopened, but the bank remained closed.
