HOUSTON The excitement some people have had about seeing the new Batman movie has been tempered with worry after a mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado.

The shooting was all one Houston mother could think about as she brought her boys to see The Dark Knight Rises.

I couldn t believe it, said the unidentified woman. I don t know it s crazy.

The popular Edwards Theater in Southwest Houston said it will call in extra security if needed. Studio Movie Grill said it had already posted additional guards at its theaters.

Still some people were worried.

I feel a little different than the other times when I come to the theater, said Neda Vafaranian, another mother.

Some theaters were also banning masks and costumes like the ones bat man fans were wearing at the Marquee Theater.
