AUSTIN, Texas -- Tyrone Swoopes is a big guy from the small town of Whitewright, Texas who has as always had faith in himself and his abilities.
"If you don't believe in what you do or no one else will," said Swoopes.
Swoopes was forced into a starting role as UT's quarterback early on in his career but found his niche as a running threat in short yardage situations. 24 of his 41 career touchdowns as a Longhorn were by foot.
Currently, Swoopes is reinventing himself from under center to a quarterback's target as a tight end. Swoopes recently auditioned those tight end skills in front of NFL scouts at UT's pro day.
"The main thing I was working on was coming out my breaks and I think I did well with that," Swoopes said.
According to WalterCampFootball.com, Swoopes is the 15th best tight end prospect in next week's NFL Draft.
And that may result in the former quarterback becoming a Day 3 selection on April 29.
