It’s going to be a Chicago vs. Houston showdown in H-Town this weekend.
And both cities’ mayors were willing to make a friendly wager on who’s going to take the crown.
The Houston Texans host the Chicago Bears for their season opener Sunday at noon, while the Houston Astros open a four-game series against the MLB-best Chicago Cubs starting tonight at Minute Maid Park.
Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner was the first to take a swing.
“Hey @ChicagosMayor. Your @ChicagoBears and @Cubs are in Houston to play my @HoustonTexans and @astros. How about a friendly wager?” Turner tweeted.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel was more than willing to play ball.
“@SylvesterTurner We’ll take that bet, but are you sure you want to make it? What’s the deal?” Emanuel tweeted back.
Two things both cities are known for.
“@ChicagosMayor Each baseball game is worth 1pt. Football game= 2. If you win, we’ll send the brisket. If we win, you send deep dish pizza. Deal?” Turner tweeted.

“@SylvesterTurner You’re on! And we’re hungry!” Emanuel responded.

After Houston stars J.J. Watt, DeAndre Hopkins, Whitney Mercilus, Jose Altuve, George Springer and Carlos Correa show just how dominate Houston is, where should Turner order the prize-winning pizza?
