Dynamo and DC United postponed
09:10 PM CDT on Wednesday, June 4, 2008
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The D.C. United and Houston Dynamo match was postponed because of rain on Wednesday night.
The match, scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start, began after a 31-minute delay because of thunder and lightning.
The Dynamo clear the benches as a steady downpour fell.
Play began in a downpour, and with the score 0-0 in the 16th minute, referee Ricardo Salazar deemed the field at RFK Stadium unplayable.
The players went to the locker rooms and after a 1 hour, 23-minute delay, the match was called off at 9:40 p.m.
Houston (3-3-5) and United (3-7-1) will make up the match at a date announced on Thursday
