Friday, fans were calling it and expressing their feelings on a 400 page report that listed former Astros Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte and newly acquired superstar Miguel Tejada among MLB players who’ve used steroids.
“The Texans win yesterday. Today U of H hires their new coach and still the talk has been steroids,” said David Nuno with 1560 The Game.
“There’s a line you’re not supposed to cross and some of these players let their ambition overcome their good judgment,” said Richard Justice with 1560 The Game.
As for Clemens, one of the most admired sports figures in Houston history, the only response to date is from his attorney Rusty Hardin. “Everybody assumes this is true and a man’s reputation that he has built all these years is gone just like that, and it’s all because of testimony from a person threatened with prosecution.”
A prospect perhaps more disturbing than the allegations themselves.
But if they are true?
“In retrospect we all look like fools. If a guy shows up with watermelon biceps you gotta say, whoa, something’s going on here,” said Justice.
What does it say about those who suspected something, fans included, but looked the other way?
