Cougars cruise past Toledo

Robert McKiver scored 20 points and Houston shot 80 percent from the free-throw line in a 67-56 win over Toledo on Tuesday night.
The Cougars are 8-1 on the season.
Houston's 20 points from the line helped make up for poor shooting. The Cougars (8-1) shot 39 percent for the night, hitting 20-of-52 from the field.
Dion Dowell scored 13 points for the Cougars and Marcus Cousin came off the bench to add 10. McKiver led the team with nine rebounds.
Tyrone Kent scored a game-high 25 points to lead Toledo (1-7). Jerrah Young added 13 points and Jonathan Amos had 10.
Toledo kept the game close with 52 percent shooting in the first half and trailed 30-28 at halftime. Toledo's field-goal percentage dropped to 35 percent in the second half.
The Cougars outrebounded Toledo 40-25, while Toledo managed 23 points off turnovers to Houston's 11. Houston's bench outscored Toledo's 22-0.
