COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- The speculation over the status of Texas A&M football coach Dennis Franchione is leaving Aggies players with that unsettled feeling.

Their coach declined to address that speculation at his weekly news conference today.
Several media outlets reported yesterday that A&M was looking to buy out Franchione's contract after five years. The contract pays Franchione two million dollars per year and runs through 2012.
Speculation over Franchione's future has swirled since the Aggies' 34-17 loss to Miami on September 20th. The news of Franchione's per-pay e-mails to top boosters broke a week later, and the players have faced weekly questions about him since.
But the Aggies admit the uncertainty surrounding Franchione has become a distraction that's been impossible to ignore.
Senior defensive end Chris Harrington says he's "really disappointed at whoever was saying those things. They kind of lost sight of the fact that this was our senior year.
They don't really realize there's a group of guys here that have put their blood and sweat into a season."
