09:55 PM CDT on Tuesday, March 13, 2007

By Carleton Cole/11 Sports Exec. Producer

For eight innings the Astros had trouble hitting Braves pitching, but then came the ninth.

Astros score 9 runs in the ninth to pummel the Braves

Nine runs later the scoreboard looked like a thrashing, an 11-3 final.

Astros starter Roy Oswalt worked four innings, and while he started with two strikeouts in the first, he did allow a couple of runs before leaving.

Craig Biggio opened the game with a double down the left field line, and then with two outs in the inning, Carlos Lee came through with another double down the rightfield line.

With a strong wind blowing in, several fly balls fell short making for some spectacular catches. Luke Scott made three stellar grabs, while Hunter Pence banged into the centerfield wall to short circuit a would be extra base hit.

The Astros and Braves play again tomorrow, but this time at Osceola County Stadium, about 10 miles east from the Disney Complex where the Braves hold their camp.
