A recent classified ad ran in a Lubbock newspaper stating Sheryl Swoopes-Jackson sports memorabilia was going to be auctioned off in the Texas Panhandle.

Seems, much of Swoopes personal affects from her playing days at Texas Tech are housed in a storage unit in Lubbock and payments for the unit reportedly stopped some time ago.

The sports memorabilia reportedly includes her olympic gold medals and her other trophies.

The WNBA All-Star helped lead the Comets to victory Thursday over the visiting Washington Mystics, but after the game Swoopes freely talked about the sports memorabilia in question.

“There’s stuff in there that I want that will be taken care of.  I spoke to the people there and they’re taking care of it. And there’s stuff in there that I really don’t care what happens to it. Because it’s kind of been there for 10, 11, 12 years,” said Swoopes.

That auction is currently scheduled for July 21, in Lubbock.
