Rugby Laws: SaberCats define ‘passing'

KHOU 11 sports reporter Jason Bristol talks to Sam Windsor with the Houston Sabercats rugby team on the laws of passing.

New to rugby?

When it comes to passing, rugby laws state the ball must not be passed or thrown forwards. Players always pass backwards to a teammate who is behind them, according to player/coach Sam Windsor.

The SaberCats begin play next year in the newly-formed Major League Rubgy. The club’s home game will be played at Constellation Field in Sugar Land.

“Rugby Laws,” or the rules of rugby, air each week on KHOU 11’s SportsExtra.
