HOUSTON – The Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant leads the Western Conference squad against the Miami Heat’s Lebron James in the 62nd NBA All-Star Game Sunday at the Toyota Center.
Bryant was the overall leader in the NBA All-Star Balloting with 1,591,437 votes, while James finished second with 1,583,646 votes. This is Bryant’s record 15th consecutive All-Star appearance.
He will be joined by fellow Laker Dwight Howard, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, both of the L.A. Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant as starts for the West squad.
The New York Knick’s Carmelo Anthony and the Boston Celtics Kevin Garnett join James in the East’s frontcourt, while the Miami’s Dwyane Wade and Boston’s Raja Rondo form the backcourt. Rondo will miss the game due to injury.
Erik Spoelstra, coach of the Eastern Conference All-Stars, will name a replacement for Rondo.
