Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller spoke to radio host Dan Patrick yesterday about the controversial comments made by New York Knicks team president and coaching legend Phil Jackson.
Recently Jackson referred to LeBron James' business associates as a "posse," which James took offense to, saying he had lost all respect for Jackson for being so racially insensitive.
Here's what Miller had to say about the exchange:
"You've got to be able to read the climate of what's going on in America," Miller told Patrick. "And LeBron James built not only a sports empire but a business empire with Rich Paul and Maverick Carter, and it just so happens to be guys he grew up with. When you use the term posse, most people are going to think it's African American, which pretty much it is. If you're Phil Jackson, you wouldn't say Tom Brady has a posse, or Aaron Rodgers has a posse. So why does LeBron James have to have a posse if it's his friends that work for him and built up this empire? To me it's Phil Jackson is out of touch. I thought it was uncalled for."
