Wide receiver Will Fuller returned to practice this week, but the second-year wideout will not play when the Houston Texans visit the New England Patriots on Sunday. Fuller is still not fully recovered from the broken collarbone he suffered in early August.
The 2016 first-round pick was a limited participant in practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, but Texans coach Bill O’Brien has already ruled the speedy wideout out for Week 3.
“Will Fuller will not be available Sunday,” O’Brien was quoted by the Houston Chronicle. “Will be available soon.”
The Texans offense could surely use his field-stretching ability on the outside. Houston’s offense has lacked any sense of a downfield threat, ranking last in both yards per attempt and yards per completion through two games. Fuller should return for Week 4 against the division rival Tennessee Titans.
