Two Texans among top 50 in NFL merchandise sales

Two Houston Texans ranked in the top 50 among officially licensed NFL player merchandise for the 2016-17 season, according to the NFL Players Association.

Two Houston Texans ranked in the top 50 among total sales of officially licensed NFL player merchandise for the 2016-17 season, according to the NFL Players Association.

Defensive end J.J. Watt ranked 13th, and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins came in 37th on the Top 50 Player Sales List released Wednesday.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott topped the list, becoming the first rookie to finish atop the year-end list. His teammate, rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, came in second.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was No. 3 on the list, followed by another Cowboy, wide receiver Dez Bryant, in fourth. Rounding out the top five was New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Quarterbacks again were the most-represented on the list with 19 total, including six in the top 10. Wide receivers were the next-most represented group with 17 players. The Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys led teams in number of players on the list with five each.
