Tom Savage’s health status has been the source of national attention since his spastic twitching in the NRG Stadium end zone after hitting his head on the turf in Sunday’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
The Texans starting quarterback tweeted out an update, and it’s good news. Savage says, “I’m doing fine”.
He also took the time to defend coach Bill O’Brien, who has taken undeserved heat for allowing Savage back into the game for another drive.
I appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers, I’m doing fine. Even though I cannot speak to media due to the protocol I will say this, nobody cares more about his players than OB. https://t.co/kdEg2n7ih5— Tom Savage (@TomSavage03) December 11, 2017
O’Brien spoke at length in his Monday press conference about his role in the concussion protocol and how he had no access to any video replay or indication of the severity of the injury. Savage reaffirmed what O’Brien said and added, “Nobody cares more about his players than OB (O’Brien)”.
