DENVER – Houston Texans right tackle Derek Newton was forced to leave Monday night’s game against the Denver Broncos with a knee injury.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports that Newton torn both patella tendons and could have sustained more damage.
Newton was injured on a non-contact play on the team’s third drive of the game.
Texans medical staff was seen putting a cast on Newton’s knee. He was helped onto a cart by his teammate Duane Brown along with other offensive lineman.
Chris Clark replaced Newton at right tackle.
