Mumphery makes case for Texans' final WR spot

ARLINGTON, Texas – One of the final positions up for grabs for the Houston Texans heading into the final preseason game is the fifth wide receiver spot.

Second-year man Keith Mumphery wants to make sure he gets the call.

Mumphery showed off his improved skills in the first half against the Dallas Cowboys, catching 3 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown. He scored near the end of the second quarter when he got behind his defender and Brandon Weeden found him for a 64-yard touchdown.

Coming into the game, Mumphery had 4 catches for 66 yards in three preseason games.

DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller , Braxton Miller and Jaelen Strong are expected to make the team.

Mumphery could add another weapon on the outside.
