Texans All-Pro defensive end J.J. Watt is healthy and ready to take out months of injury-related frustration on opposing offenses. Watt is amped up for this week’s preseason contest with the Carolina Panthers. He’s also confident his modified training regimen will help keep him in peak condition all year, and that his supporting cast is good enough to make these Texans great.
While speaking with Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller of Sirius XM NFL Radio during the network’s tour stop at Texans camp in West Virginia, Watt couldn’t contain his excitement for getting back to playing ball.
“It’ll be a lot of fun,” Watt declared. “There’s going to be a lot of great things ahead. I’m very fortunate, I’m looking forward to it. My body feels great, I feel great. The practices have been going really well, so I’m really looking forward to playing some games, getting back out there, and being the player I expect to be.”
As for his teammates? Watt sees a lot of young talent that can help this Texans team be a special one,
“It’s fun to have a group of young guys who are really itching to learn, too. And that’s what we have here, is we have a really good team, a really good group of guys and they’re all wanting to learn, so it’s fun to be able to help out, even when I’m not out there.”
