Dare Ogunbowale making his name known at Texans camp

They might not be able to say his name, but the Houston Texans are taking notice of Dare Ogunbowale. The undrafted rookie running back from Wisconsin is drawing positive reviews for his work in the first few days of Texans camp in the mountains of West Virginia.

Starting running back Lamar Miller admitted the complicated-looking last name is giving the Texans some pronunciation issues. When asked in his post-practice press conference if anyone can say Ogunbowale’s name, Miller quickly quipped,

“No, I call him ‘D.’’

Miller then elaborated on the man vying to be one of his backups.

“He’s doing a good job. Coming in as a free agent, learning the offense. He’s very elusive, so I think he’s been doing a great job in one-on-ones and making it hard on the linebackers and he’s been doing a great job on special teams. That’s always a plus. ”

The special teams ability is a key, a great opportunity for the former cornerback to make a mark on the roster. And for the record, “D’s” surname is pronounced O-gun-bow-all-eh
