According to a poll conducted last week, 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has become the most disliked player in the NFL.
The survey included 1,100 Americans, whose "demographics were representative of the general population," according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.
The poll asked about more than 350 players, and revealed that Kaepernick was "disliked a lot" by 29% of those polled, more than any other player. In the dislike category, he finished ahead of Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston (22%), Dolphins defensive end Ndamukong Suh (21%) and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (13%).
In August 2014 when the poll was last conducted, Kaepernick was only "disliked a lot" by 6% of those surveyed.
Among African-Americans, 42% said that they like Kaepernick "a lot," while only 2% dislike him "a lot."
Meanwhile, 37% of white respondents said they dislike the 49ers quarterback "a lot."
When the poll was conducted two years ago, only 24% of people said they knew his name. That number jumped to 42% in the recent poll.
