HOUSTON – Crews hoisted the final pieces of the Texans new video board inside Reliant Stadium. It is the biggest in the National Football League.
The Texans gave members of the media a peek at construction Friday morning.
The new board is 277-feet wide and 52-feet tall. That’s bigger that what hangs in Cowboys’ Stadium in Dallas. However, there are several differences.
In Dallas, the whole screen shows live, high-definition replays. Not in Houston. The Texans reserved two-thirds of their board for advertisements, league scores and fantasy stats. Still, the middle-third, which shows replays, is bigger than anything fans saw on the old Reliant board or inside the Astrodome.
The Texans hope the view for fans will be twice as nice when crews finish construction on a second video board that will hang at the other end of Reliant Stadium.
That construction is underway.
