HOUSTON—The Texans are among the NFL favorites to make it to the Super Bowl this year, but do they now have something else to fear other than their opponents?

Defensive lineman JJ Watt is on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. That’s an honor, right?

Well many people still believe in the SI Cover Jinx – an urban legend that suggests when athletes end up on the cover, something bad always happens to them.

Some say history has shown the cover can lead to bad luck. Others say it’s just a series of coincidences. Whether or not you believe in the curse, Watt says it’s an honor.

“It’s just one of those things you dream about as a kid,” Watt said. “It’s one of those things you grow up, looking at the cover, and imagining yourself on the cover. To be on the cover, it’s very very cool.”
