HOUSTON – Andre Johnson, just as he said wouldn’t, didn’t show up at the Houston Texans first organized team activities of 2014.
The 12-year-veteran wide receiver did not join the rest of his team at the Methodist Training Center early Tuesday.
CBS Radio reports that Johnson has only missed training with the Texans one other time since his draft in 2003 when he held out for contract reasons for a few days.
In mid-May, Johnson told a group of reporters that he wonders if the Texans organization is still the place for him to be. He also did not attend the team's mini-camp a few weeks ago, although he was in Houston.
“I just look over my career,” said Johnson in an interview on May 13. “I’ve only been to the playoffs twice and I think we’ve only had three winning seasons. I don’t think any player wants to experience that.”
Johnson has played for the Houston Texans since 2003.
He said that he has not asked to team to be traded.
“When I make my decision I’ll go from there,” said Johnson.
